Guidelines for admitting of new local chapters of CIE-USA
Pre-requisites:
· The applicant must consent to CIE-USA’s objectives and its By-Laws
· The applicant shall be a politically neutral professional organization
· The applicant shall not have alliance with any political party or political entity
· The applicant shall be a respectable professional organization, known in its local community, and has significant organization-sponsored annual activities
· The applicant must have a membership of 50 or more.
· The applicant must agree to change its name and adopt the name of a CIE-USA /local chapter. For example, CIE-USA/Dallas-Fort Worth Chapter, CIE-USA/Greater New York Chapter, etc.
Admission Procedures:
1. Upon expressing interest from a prospective applicant, CIE-USA National council shall have the dialogues with the prospective applicant on the above pre-requisites.
2.
If the pre-requisites are considered satisfied,
CIE-USA National Council will discuss the case.
· Consideration of geographic balance of the local chapter distribution
· Consideration of the type of professional organization –- prefer general professional organization, not focused on a single specialty
· Consideration of NC size and stability factor
3. With a 2/3 NC members’ approval, NC may invite the applicant to seat in NC meetings and to freely interact with the member chapters during the following 12 months. After the 12 month “incubation” period, the applicant can become a new chapter only if both applicant and CIE-USA give the approvals.
