Ron was commissioned in the U.S. Army Signal Corps in August 1975, after receiving a full ROTC scholarship. He spent seven years in the military in assignments as the Medical Communications Officer for Tripler Army Medical Center in Hawaii and as the Program Manager for the development and worldwide operation of a national intelligence system. He has worked for the U.S. Army Space Program Office and the Secretary of the Air Force.
After completing his commissioned service, Ron worked for GTE Government Systems in Westboro, Massachusetts. Ron relocated to Palo Alto, California in 1985 to work for Ford Aerospace Corporation as a system engineer, program manager and business area manager leading the development of eleven medium to large programs in imagery processing and communications, RF and optical communications. During this period Ron also initiated the start-up of two Silicon Valley companies in the telecommunications market.
Ron has had a number of assignments with increasing responsibilities to include Business Unit, Business Area, Systems Engineering Lab Manager and Line of Business Leader. He served as the Vice President and General Manager for the Intelligence Systems Line of Business which included 3,600 employees involved with supporting the Intelligence Community “Helping our customers help the nation know what its’ enemies’ intentions are all the time”. He assumed a new assignment as the Chief Operating Officer for Savi Group, LLC a wholly owned subsidiary of Lockheed Martin Corp. in 2007 and is actively working to help Savi realize its vision of Total Asset Management within the RFID market.
He graduated with a Physics degree from San Francisco State University and a Master of Science degree from the University of Southern California. As part of his ongoing educational excellence pursuits, Ron was selected to attend several institutional leadership courses with the Ford Motor Company, Stanford University, and Lockheed Martin Corporation. Ron has received numerous awards over his career to include National Management Association Manager of the Year Award, the prestigious Lockheed Martin NOVA Award for Team Excellence and was certified at the highest level as one of the three Master Program Managers within LM IS&S. Ron most recently was notified of award of the Asian American Engineer of the Year for 2007.
Ron is a native of Hawaii. He has a daughter and a son both actively embarked on creating their own destiny. When he is not working, Ron enjoys golf, tennis, time with his wife and someday soon hopes to learn to sail.
